You should use your casino bonuses wisely when you are playing at an online casino. In order to do this, you need to know what the bonus can be used for, how long it will last and any other rules that are attached to the bonus. You will find that you get longer play time when you are using casino bonuses, but you need to make sure that they relate to the games that you want to play when you are online gambling.

The more you find out about casino bonuses and exactly how you can use them, the better off you are when it comes to using them for what you need. You should start to use them after you learn about them. There are sites where you can learn more about the casino bonuses themselves that will tell you which are the best ones for you, depending on the games that you plan on playing when you go online. If you are like most people, you have certain games that you enjoy playing when you go onto the internet more than others.

You want to find out how you can use your casino bonuses when it comes to betting. If you have to bet a certain amount using these bonuses, then you will want to do so in order to make the most of them. There are some casino bonuses that match the money that you have in your account and others that will give you a free play at the casino. By following the rules that are attached to any bonuses, you will make sure that you are using them correctly in order to get the most from your play.

The rules of the casino bonuses are the most important aspect of using them wisely. As long as you understand the rules and how they are used, you will have no problem at all using them to your advantage. You need to be sure that they can be used for the game that you wish to gamble on when you are at an online casino. There are different casino bonuses attached to different games, so be sure that you pick one that can be used for the game that you want to play. If there is a time limit attached to the bonus itself, then make sure that you stay within that time limit when using the bonus so that you do not lose any of this free money that the casino is offering you.

Following the rules of the casino bonuses as well as making sure that you use them for the games that you wish to play and betting as conservatively as you can when you are first starting out will enable you to make the most use of these bonuses and use them to your best advantage. This is free money from the casino, so you want to be sure to make the most of it when you are playing at any online casino or even when playing poker online.

Poker Endurance Record Attempt by Phil Laak
Submitted on Tue, 2010-05-25 10:02 Set your calendar for June 2 as Phil Laak is going to attempt to break the record for playing consecutive hours of poker, which now stands at 78. He’ll be at the Bellagio in Las Vegas trying to break Paul Zimbler’s record for playing poker that was set in 2009. Laak Challenging Others to Play Laak, who is known at The Unabomber due to the way in which he dresses, has sent out a challenge to those via his site, Unabomber Poker, to play him. The event starts at noon on June 2, 2010, and Phil Laak is going with real cash games that start at $10/$20. The Run The Unabomber is looking to run straight through without breaks until the end of the World Series of Poker (WSOP). That will be more than three straight days of poker. How’s he going to do it? Laak has been training. Fried food, ice cream and cheese have been cut out of his diet. He’s planning on being active the day before and getting 10 hours of sleep, waking around 11 am for the noon start. You can Play at this Charity Event Laak is giving half of the cash from the event to Camp Sunshine, which helps kids who are facing the challenges of life changing diseases. Anyone has a chance to play against The Unabomber as he attempts to set the record for consecutive hours of poker playing. Here are three ways to qualify. On May 27, Unabomber Poker will host a $50 buy-in tournament at 6 pm PT. The winner gets to go to Vegas. The buy-in is refunded to everyone after the tournament. For those with a literary bent, you can write a 100- 250-word essay on why you should get the chance to play against the bleary-eyed Unabomber. Submissions should be sent to blog@unabomberpoker.com. Finally, if you play one hand of poker on Laak’s site, you’ll be part of a random drawing for the event. Each of the three winners gets three nights’ free accommodations at the Bellagio. So, if you want to be part of history and take on Phil Laak, get over to Las Vegas as The Unabomber tries to set the new poker playing record on June 2.

Off the Felt with Joe Sebok
November 14 2011, Danielle Barille Related Articles Off the Felt with Lauren Kling Off the Felt with Matt Savage Off the Felt with Peter Jetten Related Tournaments Related Players Share It Tags Poker Players, Joe Sebok, Barry Greenstein, Aussie Millions, Poker Player Interviews, Poker Hall of Fame Print Off the Felt is interviewing your favorite people in the poker industry to find out more about their lives you’ve got it off the felt. We recently sat down with Joe Sebok to talk a little poker, family secrets, and his new pup. How did you start playing poker? I jumped into poker when I was about 27, after working at several failed dot-coms in San Francisco and doing some traveling immediately after. I was looking for what my next adventure was going to be, and it turned out that poker was just the thing. Whats next on your poker calendar? Excellent question. I’ve been focusing much more on business possibilities off of the tables. I am hoping to hit Bellagio for a few events in December though, so let’s hope my ass gets over to Vegas for that. What is your favorite tournament stop? I think everyone loves Bellagio stops, our professional poker player “home away from home.” Hard to argue with the island stops though: Aruba, Bahamas, etc., were always a blast and not only combined great poker play with the beach, but everyone there always has a much more laid back approach to the events. Also, I can never hate on the Aussie Millions event. Australia is always incredible. What are some of your hobbies away from the table? I have many. Running is the most accessible thing I do when not playing. I play racquetball, as well. I live in Los Angeles, so I try and catch as much live music as I can, which has always been a passion of mine. I’m basically into anything fun that I can throw myself into. If someone asks me to do something, I’m usually going to say yes. Do you have any hidden talents? I have many, but if I told you then they wouldn’t be hidden anymore. And I would also have to kill you. As well as your family. You can see this doesn’t end well for either of us. From what we see on Twitter, it looks like youre a dog lover. Who is the little one in your profile picture and how did you get her? Always have been a dog lover since I was a boy. The pic is my new girl, Bailey, who is about 10 months old and keeps me company on the beach and when I am watching movies. She is an Aussie cattle dog and is one of the most amazingly intelligent and mellow dogs I have ever been around. I’m pretty sure she channels Steve Jobs and Bob Marley. You seem to do a lot with charities. Are there any that are especially close to your heart? I really like to get involved with any group that needs help, to be honest with you. Those closest to my heart are usually ones that have to do with children, though. Just this past week I helped out with an event thrown by TACA, which is a group that deals with autism in children. It’s an amazing group that everyone should check out and get more involved with. I also love animals and live on the beach, so I’m a big fan of Jen Harman’s event every year and also try to support Surfrider Foundation. There are a lot of people and causes that need help out there. What has been your most memorable moment in your poker career? Man, I don’t know. It’s all been fun. I have a number of tournament wins, but they have all been in events in the buy-in range of $1k to $5k, so I haven’t gotten the publicity, or the payouts, that those bad-ass $10k’s bring! The last eight years has been a total blur. If I had to pick something, though, it would probably be my first win as a professional, at the Mirage back in the day, pocketing about $150,000. Always nice to bag a win! Have you been involved in any ridiculous prop bets? Too many to possibly roll through here. I have a very high threshold for idiocy, so you can imagine. Just do a search on Google and you’ll find some stuff. Superhero costumes, tattoos, spray tan bets, and Muay Thai fighting, just to name a few. Lets hear a secret about your dad, Barry Greenstein, since you said you have enough to write a book. I wish! If only I would let these little cats out of their bag! With all families I am sworn to secrecy, though. Sigh, such is life. He is the best though. Had a great time at the WSOP Final Table this year, inducting him and Linda Johnson into the Poker Hall of Fame. Great day. Would you rather learn how to box from Muhammad Ali or learn how to play hockey from Wayne Gretzky? Easy one. I’m not a boxing guy and I love hockey, so I’d love to get a little love from the Great One. How could you say no to that? At the end of the day, I’m really a true baseball lover though, so I’d love to take a few cuts and catch a few grounders at Wrigley Field with my beloved Cubs. What is the most adventurous thing youve ever done? I like to think everything. There aren’t many things I won’t throw myself into: sky diving, rock climbing, hiking through jungles, scuba diving in caves, trying to lean poker from Barry Greenstein, disabling nuclear devices. I try not to ever back down from a challenge if I can help it. What team is more likely to win a World Series title next? The Chicago Cubs or the Boston Red Sox? I gotta go with the better squad as they stand right now, so you gotta say the Sox. The Cubs are making some correct moves right now, but our roster is just a mess and it’s going to take a while to revamp the whole team, so it’s gonna be a while sadly. Boston is ready to win right now and they’ll be hungry after their collapse this past year. What would you be doing if you werent playing poker? Be having as much fun as possible doing something else. I judge success by the amount of fun you’re having and how much you love your life. Poker has been an absolute blast, but I like to think I could, and would, find that joy with whatever I happened to fall into. I’ve never been married to one thing, and I’m still not.

Top 5 Poker TV Shows
published on 03/04/11 at 9:00 am Looking to catch some great poker action on your television set this week? Then, this is the article that clues you in about where all the poker action is. So, read on to find out which TV channels you have to set your dial to for watching shows packed with poker glitz!! #1 Poker TV Show: GSNs High Stakes PokerThis show was launched in 2006 and was one-of-a-kind among all existing poker shows because one could sit alongside the top poker professionals from all corners of the globe, such as Barry Greenstein, Daniel Negreanu of PokerStars, and Jen Harman as opposed to the tournament format of other shows. Thus, this show allowed viewers to watch the poker biggies gamble with their personal cash (tons of it, really considering each player had to buy-in using USD 100,000 with variations of deals one doesnt normally get to see anywhere else. #2 Poker TV show: ESPNs World Series of PokerThis show has got to be the biggest ever in televised poker event history since nowhere else can viewers tune in to such a tremendous variety of poker games. You have Texas Holdem, 7-card Stud andOmaha played high with the Main Event being the real crowd puller because it is here that the nail-biting finish table action has everyone betting on who will walk away with the No Limit Holdem tournaments multi-million dollar first prize! #3 Poker TV show: World Poker TourThis show definitely has all the poker nuts tuning in to the WPT and also dragging along family and friends to watch the action after it launched with much fanfare in 2003. It rapidly climbed up the TRP charts and became the Travel Channels top rated program because of great poker tournament coverage from across the countrys best casinos. Each hand that is relayed on the TV screen causes hearts of poker fans to beat faster with the pace of the action speeding up across all the different channels the show airs on: from Fox Sports to Travel Channel to GSN, which is sponsored by PokerStars.net, viewers have a choice of which channel they want to change the dial for in order to be part of the poker claim to fame just like the pros featured on this show! #4 Poker TV show: Bravos Celebrity Poker ShowdownThis show really built up the games popularity, much like the shows listed above because it brought in a niche audience to watch their favorite stars vying for great poker prize pools amid light-hearted bantering and some fabulous on-screen chemistry between the hosts: Phil Gordon of FullTilt and Dave Foley who came across as naturals when it came to informative commentary of the shows action. Lots of poker fun, cool prizes, celebrity flavors and the rumors of poker veteran Phil Hellmuth taking to the hosting keep this TV show on the hot list of many card game enthusiasts. #5 Poker TV show: GSNs Poker RoyaleThis TV show about poker is unique because it combines two opposing groups that come together to duke it out at the poker table, across different segments like Girls versus Boys or Celebrities versus Professionals. Three players from each group face each other at the No Limit Holdem tournament and compete for the host of prizes and of course, fan favor!

The Insiders: A Gaming Industry Profile of Vont Limited’s Jon Sykes
October 14 2011, Brett Collson Related Articles Tony G Signs Player Representation Deal with Party Poker An Exciting Two Weeks for PokerNews PokerNews Top 10: In the Octagon Related Players Share It Tags Print On Tuesday, Antanas Tony G Guoga announced his intentions to pursue legal action against the Alderney Gambling Control Commission for its negligence in handling the situation at Full Tilt Poker. In an exclusive statement to PokerNews, Guoga said that he believes the AGCC knew about the mismanagement at Full Tilt Poker and failed to exhibit due diligence for its licensees and should be held responsible. The company managing Guogas claim will be Vont Limited, a gaming consultancy company located on the Isle of Man. Formed in 2010 by Guoga and CEO Jon Sykes, Vont offers industry expertise across a wide range of services and provides its clients with a one-stop shop for all their e-business and gaming needs. Sykes is the man behind the wheel of Vont. The 38-year-old has 15 years of experience in the corporate service-provider industry and has been providing licensing services to his clients for over eight years. PokerNews caught up with Sykes to learn more about his background and the role of Vont Limited in the e-gaming industry. For those who may not be familiar with your company, how did you get your start in the industry? How did Vont Limited come about? Ive worked in the corporate service provider industry on the Isle of Man for over 15 years and as such have had the good fortune of being involved in the Islands e-gaming industry from the start. Vont was the brainchild of Tony G and me, as we felt that there was a gap in the market for a one-stop shop multijurisdictional licensing and consultancy provider to the gaming and e-business sector. Tony G is a very prominent figure in poker. Where did your business relationship with him begin? Tony and I met a number of years ago when I was working on a licensing project for him. We met a few times on the Isle of Man and it quickly became clear that there was a lot more the island could offer him and his businesses, and our relationship grew from there. Do you feel like there was anything in particular that pushed you toward the e-gaming industry? I have always had a keen interest in gaming and love the varied nature of the industry. Nothing ever stands still and the landscape is ever changing which presents new and challenging issues for my clients and I get a kick out of providing them with the solutions that they need. What types of services do you provide for e-gaming companies? And what kind of clients are you working with? Vont provides a wide range of bespoke [custom] solutions to both gaming and e-business companies, including Multi-Jurisdictional Licensing, Provision of Expert Witnesses, Consultancy & Project Management services. We also have a strong finance arm with the capacity to manage the requirements of large international companies. Every client is different and during the initial consultation stage we ensure that we fully understand the business model and tailor solutions to meet their exacting requirements. Clients range from gaming operators who might be looking for assistance with additional gaming licenses, more cost effective payment processing and banking options or advice on corporate structuring for their existing business, to startups looking for a complete solution to go live including assistance with corporate structuring, licensing, banking, payment processing, and marketing. Could you tell us a little bit of what you do at Vont on a day-to-day basis? My role in Vont is to provide project management services to my clients and to find solutions to problems they may face. I work with an extremely varied range of clients; on the gaming side these include new and existing operators, software providers and payment processors. However, we also provide services to a number of other industries. How has your previous work experience helped you achieve your goals at Vont? Having been working in the industry for over eight years, I have established a large network of contacts and introducers of business that have proved invaluable to Vont’s success. Clients come to Vont as they know we consistently deliver and we receive a large amount of referrals from key suppliers who value the cost effective and timely services we provide to their clients. Whilst gaming is a massive international industry, experience has taught me that gaming clients dont warm to the standard business approach, and I believe Vont sets itself apart from its competitors in the way that we interact with our clients, we make a point of fostering strong relationships with them and ensure that they know that they are not just a number.

Canterbury Park’s Michael Hochman Discusses the Canterbury Park Fall Poker Classic
October 01 2011, Chad Holloway Related Articles Five Things I Can’t Live Without at the World Series of Poker The 5th Annual Binion’s Classic & Venetian Deep Stack III Recapping the Grand Poker Series & 2011 Mega Stack Series Share It Tags Live casino poker, Poker events, Poker Tournaments, Travel Print Do you remember the first time you ever stepped into a poker room? I remember mine. Nearly ten years ago, I made a four-hour trip across the state line to the Twin Cities in Minnesota, home of Canterbury Park and its 34-table poker room. The trip proved to be both an educational and expensive. After a five-year hiatus, Ill be returning to the place where it all began for Canterbury Parks Fall Poker Classic (FPC). This year, the Fall Poker Classic features 32 events spread across 16 days, culminating in a $1,000 Main Event. In addition to the normal no-limit holdem tournaments, the FCP features 7-card stud, Omaha, ladies NLHE, seniors NLHE, six-max, and an All-In-or-Fold tournament, where the only choice players can make each hand is to go all-in or fold. Ill be playing quite a few events, but I must admit, the last one has the potential to be the most enjoyable. For a look at the entire Fall Poker Classic Schedule, visit Canterbury Park. Recently, Canterbury, which is regulated by the Minnesota Racing Commission, was closed during the 20-day Minnesota government shutdown. Needless to say, that hurt business, and Im curious to see how it’s recovered. Another thing Im eager to check out is their Survival Tournaments,” Canterburys solution to not being able to play no-limit/pot-limit poker. State statues prohibit such games, leaving just limit poker as an option. Considering that no-limit is the game of choice, Canterbury has been missing out on an entire demographic of poker player. Now, Canterbury has figured out a way to combine its relaxed tournament regulations (they can host no-limit/pot-limit tournaments) with the thrill of a cash game. We spoke with Michael Hochman, Senior Director of Card Casino Operations at Canterbury, about the upcoming FPC, what to expect, and clarification on how poker works in Minnesota. Canterbury Park was closed during the Minnesota government shutdown. How come? In the most strict interpretation of the law, and although it is fully funded by Canterbury Park and Running Aces, the Minnesota Racing Commission (our regulatory body) has some reimbursements out of the general fund. Even though what the general fund pays out we pay in, the judge interpreted the MRC as a government agency that had to be closed during the shutdown. Without our regulators, we could not operate and had to close our doors and temporarily lay off all of our employees for 20 days. Did it hurt business? If so, in what ways? How did players and staff respond? We were completely shuttered for 20 days it obliterated business! Canterbury Park, and CEO Randy Sampson, did everything possible to petition the courts and offered up many solutions to try and get us opened again, and did an amazing job of keeping great communication with all the staff. We’re like family. When the 20 days were over and we were allowed to open again it was like a reunion hugs from fellow staff and the players. Naturally the staff and players were disappointed, if not outraged, at having to close. Minnesota does not allow for no-limit/pot-limit games. How does Canterbury Park deal with this law? Are there options for NLHE/PLO players? If so, could you describe them for us? Annie Adlin, our resident genius in the poker department, came up with a way to play timed no-limit games under our existing tournament rules. Player’s buy in for $200, $300, up to $2,500 and are issued the same amount in tournament chips. We play a tournament for two or three hours (predetermined) and at the end of the tournament we pay off chip-for-chip. Basically it’s a timed no-limit game where the blinds move up once during the tournament. We call those our Survival tournaments and they’ve become quite popular! The FPC is one of the biggest tournament series in the Midwest. What sort of things do you do to prepare, and what can participants look forward to? This is the first year I’ve had the privilege of setting up the FPC and it’s an undertaking! We hire about 23 dealers from all over the USA specifically to take care of our tournament. We do a complete transformation of our track-level area and turn it into a nice comfortable 33-table tournament area. This year we’ve added a few new events: more mix-game tournaments, an All-In or Fold tournament, and we’ve added smaller events every evening at the $100 level. We’ve also added some local restaurateurs to show off their talents. We’re doing a different buffet every night of the tournament and about six of those nights will be prepared and served by local restaurants! Can we expect any pros in attendance? One can never tell! We’ve had Phil Hellmuth, Men Nguyen, Susie Isaacs, Jason Senti, Mike Sexton, Linda Johnson, Jan Fisher, Marcel Luske play in our events in the past. All the local talent will be out, that’s for sure! Can you give us a brief history of the Fall Poker Classic? When did it start, what was the biggest event, and have there been any notable winners? We did our first Fall Poker Classic in 2001 and had a total prize pool of just under $200,000. It has gained in popularity every year since, and last year our total prize pool was almost $1,000,000! We have actually had one player win the main event twice. Notable winners? They’re all notable! But Brad Berman took down the main event in 2006 and again in 2009! In addition to poker, what other sort of things are there to do at Canterbury Park? What would you want to do other than play poker during the Fall Poker Classic? We do have year-round simulcasting if you like betting on horses, from all over the world, we have a 27-table pit with baccarat, blackjack, pai gow poker, Ultimate Texas Hold ‘em, Three Card Poker, Four Card Poker, Blackjack Switch, and Let It Ride, and food service 24/7. The live-action in the poker room has limits from $2/$4 up to $30/$60 and the Survival tournaments spread around the clock.
